The Bermanzi Hiking Trail and Guest House is the perfect place to relax and unwind. Settled on the gorgeous Mpumalanga escarpment, just 2 hours from Gauteng.
Bermanzi is the place where you can break away from reality and immerse yourself in nature.
HIKING TRAILBermanzi offers a 20 kilometre two day trail which has been likened to scenes from the Lord of the Rings (Country Life Magazine, March 2012 edition, page 32 to 35) and parts of which were in fact featured in the Ghost and the Darkness, starring Michael Douglas and Val Kilmer. However, to describe in words or capture on film its totality is nearly impossible. The trail will take you on a journey from high on the escarpment, between sheer cliffs, over rivulets and under suikerbos, only to rapidly descend through the dense indigenous forest into a deep gorge to meet a river cascading through trees and cliffs. Along the gushing waters it will take you up the ravine, past deep river pools set against high rock faces and through a mystical forest with ancient yellow wood guiding your way to a majestic waterfall down the vertical gorge wall.VAKASHANI GUEST HOUSEThe self-catering accommodation, at Vakashani Guest House, is suitable for up to 10 people looking for comfortable, affordable accommodation.
