BUILDING FIRM FOUNDATIONS FOR LIFE-LONG LEARNING
It is the aim of the School to inculcate in its learners the desire to learn. It is our belief that this can best be brought about by encouraging critical thinking and reasoning in order to develop responsible individuals. Great emphasis is placed on the gross motor, perceptual, cognitive, social and emotional development of the child.
At the same time the learning programmes are developed to suit individual needs. Our attitude is one of positive intervention to ensure that our children are equipped to face the challenges of the future.
Message from the Headmistress
A warm welcome to BluebirdIt is our goal to develop the whole child, so that he or she may strive to achieve independence, self discipline, self knowledge, develop problem solving abilities and to learn to have respect and tolerance for others and their cultures.
Our school emblem is “the Blue Bird of Happiness” – which reflects the modus opperandi of the school. Learners are inspired to participate, compete, assist, reward and to be rewarded in turn. This affirmation develops contentment and a positive self-image resulting in happy children.
We are committed to our entire school community, the children parents, educators and support staff, believing that we are only as strong as the weakest link.
Our school reflects the diversity of South African culture. We endeavor to instill a sense of pride and achievement in our young learners, for themselves and their country as we lead them step by step up the ladder of learning.
Our staff are committed to bringing our the best in every child and helping them to identify their strengths. It is in celebrating individual strength that we are able to address weaknesses and motivate these young learners to practice new skills and develop as a whole.
We are, above all, a happy school - something that a visit to us will make very clear. I look forward to meeting you.
