We're a PADI Diving Resort situated in the idyllic surrounds of the Isimangaliso Wetland Park, Sodwana Bay, South Africa. Coral Divers offers guests a tranquil and rustic, but comfortable place to stay while enjoying Sodwana Bay.
Coral Divers is a dive resort located within the iSimangaliso Wetland Park, Sodwana Bay, just 2 hours drive from the well-known Hluhluwe-iMfolozi National Park, where one can find the African Big 5.
A variety of cabins and safari tents are laid out surrounding the main reception, pool and dining area. The lodge has 84 rooms in total, and these range from Ensuite Chalets (the most spacious) to the Standard Chalets with private bathrooms, or Standard Chalets with shared bathrooms.
The Safari Tents all have twin beds and mattresses (they also use the KZN Wildlife shared bathrooms). The reception is located at the main entrance to the lodge and is open daily from 7am to 9:30pm. Guests who have booked on our half-board rates, can expect a full buffet each morning and evening. Breakfast is served from 6:30am until 10:30am and dinner is served from 6:30pm until 8:30pm.
The resort also offers the guests the option to self-cater in a fully equipped self-catering kitchen.Centrally located to the accommodation, the well-stocked bar is fully licensed, and offers a variety of snacks, coffees, milk shakes and light meals. These are available from 7am to 8pm daily.
Choose from a selection of burgers, wraps, toasties or pizzas and many more, while relaxing at the pool side or in our fabulous Boma area. Fires are lit every evening in the Boma and add a great ambience to the friendly and social vibe of the dining area. Our artisnal Coffee Bar opens each day at 5.30am so that divers making their way to the beach on the first shuttle may be able to grab a quick coffee, cappuccino or tea and a snack if they wish.
A complimentary shuttle service is available for all Coral Divers guests to travel to and from the beach. It will leave from the pool deck 45 minutes before each dive launch time (see dive planning board near the TV Lounge) and it will return after each dive.
We have 13 ‘Rubberduck’ semi-inflatable boats (RIBs) that carry 10 divers each. Each boat has a qualified DM and Skipper accompanying the divers and all the dives are conducted as seated entry, drift dives. This allows for comfortable and less strenuous diving as the boat follows the group at all times, able to collect divers as they surface.
Dive sites are numerous and there are varying depths to suit divers of all qualifications. Nitrox is also available.Coral Divers is a PADI 5 Star CDC Dive centre and offers PADI certifications to divers.
The courses include PADI Discover Scuba Diving, Scuba Diver, Open Water Diver, Advanced Diver, Rescue Diver, Dive Master and Instructor, as well as numerous speciality courses. The courses are generally able to run on request.
