Description

Originally built in the 1820’s as a Sheep Farm, this was acquired by Peter van Wyk about 15 years ago. He set about removing all the “camps” and fencing the entire 4,000 hectares to accommodate game. Peter had a vision to create an Nature/Game reserve just hours from Cape Town.
After an extensive renovation, this rustic and comfortable Karoo home is now available for weekend or mid-week stays. The house accommodates 10 guests (all in their own suites) with access to the entire farm for either walks, drives, mountain biking Bush veld dining or just relaxing by the Pool.

The farm is stocked with the following species of game: Ostrich, Gemsbok, Kudu, Blesbok, Hartebeest,Black Wildebeest, Springbok, Steenbok, Duiker, Klipspringer, Jacal, Caracal (Rooikat), Aardwolf, Antbear (Aardvark), Bat Eared Fox, African Wild Cat and Small Spotted Genet as well as offering an excellent birding opportunity. A game viewing vehicle for game drives is available to guests and sunset drives are available on request. One drive a day is included in the rate.

Bush dinners and bush breakfasts can be arranged both of which are an exceptional experience, provided by our talented Manager and Chef who has mastered the art of Argentinian Barbecue.

Being situated near Sutherland (where the South African Large Telescope is positioned) makes for excellent astronomy. The farm is located 58km from the Roodehek entrance gate of the Tankwa Karoo National Park.
